At the UKE, we are convinced that successful and fulfilling work should be harmonised with the personal needs and individual life plans of all employees. Together we can make this possible.

What to expect

We are the UKE – the University Medical Centre Hamburg-Eppendorf [Universitätsklinikum Hamburg-Eppendorf]. A pulsating centre of health in the heart of Hamburg. When you are surrounded by that much energy and when progress sets the pace, no two days are the same. More than 14,400 employees with very different responsibilities are united by the same goal: ensuring health and well-being.

Our international interdisciplinary research group is looking for a postdoctoral researcher for the newly funded EU project "HORUS - Casting Light on Host-Cytomegalovirus Interaction in Solid Organ Transplantation", in which we want to further understand the immune response of γδ T cells against cytomegaloviruses. • Cell sorting and flow cytometric analysis (Cytek Aurora, LSRFortessa, BDAria)
  • TCR sequencing and single-cell RNA sequencing
  • Planning, documentation, evaluation, analysis and presentation of research results and their publication
  • International cooperation within the EU project
  • Opportunity to network within the DFG research group 2799 (https://for2799.de/)

What we look forward to

  • Completed scientific university studies and doctorate in biology, biochemistry, immunology, molecular life sciences, molecular medicine, bioinformatics or comparable natural science studies
  • Good knowledge of immunology
  • Ideally practical experience in molecular biology methods and immunological techniques
  • Desirable interest in bioinformatics analyses
