What to expect

Our research focus is in vascular biology and thrombosis & hemostasis. The group leader/senior postdoc position is placed in Dr. Thomas Renné’s laboratory at the University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf (UKE). The successful candidate is expected to develop a high quality research program that complements the scientific focus of the institute. The position is initially open for a 3 year fixed term contract with the possibility for prolongation or a permanent position and would be most suitable for an experienced scientist.

Area of responsibilities / description of the work:

We stress extensive background and expertise in our research area and proven leadership experience. The applicant needs to have strong competence in running projects independently but also have good abilities for team work and cooperation within a dynamic group of international scientists with broad expertise.

What we look forward to

Applicants must have an a strong background in experimental vascular research including expertise in intravital or advanced imaging. Expertise in scientific writing and communication skills in English are essential. Competence to organize a research group, demonstrated ability to gain research funding, a strong publication track, networking competence and national and international collaborative networks are advantageous. The applicants will be evaluated based on previous experience, relevance for the project, publications and track records, motivation, scientific merits and cooperative ability.
