The project related position is limited to three years. An extension is pursued. The focus of this position is on database maintenance for a multinational collaborative study that harmonizes data from population cohort studies from different countries in order to research the development of cardiovascular diseases. You can expect varied working tasks in an interdisciplinary team with a great atmosphere.

• Support of clinical-epidemiological studies with responsibility for data management
• Conception, programming and testing of databases including creation of application programs for maintenance/modification of databases, identification and rectification of sources of error and weakness
• Securing and maintaining large databases: data harmonization, data validation, data cleaning and query management
• Guidance and monitoring of data collection and systematic implementation of checks for completeness and validity of the parameters
• Creation of project-related data exports
• Preparation and descriptive compilation of the study results: Statistical evaluation/programming using statistical programs (e.g. SAS, SPSS, R, STATA)
• Ensuring electronic data transfer to external partners and international cooperation
• Support of the participating study centers (electronically/by telephone)
• Consulting on the compilation of variables and analysis requests
• Creation of variable manuals
• Presentation of results: formal preparation of results, participation in the preparation of final project reports and scientific publications (lectures, abstracts, manuscripts, etc.)Preferably, maintenance of a project website (javascript) with regard to current data sets/publications

What we look forward to

• Academic degree in the field of medical documentation/medical information management, statistics or computer science or a completed training/degree in the field of natural sciences with an additional qualification in the field of medical data management
• Experience with server-based databases and data analysis, e.g. descriptive statistics
• Very good programming skills (SQL) and knowledge of the statistical software "R"
• Very good knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access)
• Confident written and spoken English language skills in the context of clinical studies
• Good knowledge of clinical trial procedures and medical nomenclature
• Professional experience in data management in clinical studies desirable
• Knowledge of creating websites and ongoing support (Javascript) preferable
• Structured and careful way of working with a high degree of accuracy and reliability
• Ability to work in a team, communication skills, analytical and structured way of working and a "hands-on" work attitude
